 LPPM UMJ Nets 645 Papers in the 2023 National Seminar

Participants in the 2023 National Research and Community Service Seminar, Thursday (26/10/23).

The Institute for Research and Community Service, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (LPPM UMJ) is holding a national research seminar in 2023. LPPM UMJ collected 645 papers consisting of research and community service. This seminar was held online via Zoom Meeting, Thursday (26/10/23).

This seminar presented three speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, M.Sc (University of Indonesia) spoke about Strengthening Research Capacity and Collaboration in the 5.0 era, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yudi Fernando (University of Malaysia Pahang Al Sultan Abdullah) spoke about the opportunities and challenges of becoming a World Class University, and Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, MP, IPM (Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta) spoke about the Integration of Community Service and KKN in improving the performance and fulfillment of Higher Education KIU.

UMJ Chancellor and Keynote Speaker Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, M.Sc., said that UMJ must collaborate with other institutions in terms of research and community service in order to achieve excellence.

"If we want to improve our performance towards excellence, this is not possible without collaboration. "Collaboration is carried out to share information, resources and so on," said Ma'mun.

Furthermore, Ma'mun appreciated that LPPM UMJ routinely organizes the 2023 National Seminar. He emphasized that in order to achieve excellence, it is necessary to be encouraged by policies that support efforts to increase research and service in implementing Catur Dharma.

On the same occasion, Chairman of LPPM UMJ Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yuni Hendrawati, M.Si., IPM, ASEAN, ENG., said that UMJ has regularly held national research and community service seminars. Not only that, UMJ has also implemented national and international Real Work Lectures (KKN). This is a form of UMJ's commitment to becoming a World Class University.

"Everyone gives UMJ one color towards becoming a World Class University," explained Yuni.

National seminars are held regularly once a year. This time, the seminar carried the theme Strengthening Capacity and Research Collaboration and Community Service Based on Freedom of Learning Towards a World Class University.

Chairman of the SEMNAS Committee Assoc. Prof. Anwar Ilmar Ramadhan, ST, MT, Ph.D., reported that the 645 papers collected consisted of several areas of interest, namely Education and Religion, Medicine and Health, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Economics, and Law and Politics. Accepted from various regions including, Aceh, Bengkulu, Lampung, Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang, Bandung, Serang, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya, Kendari, Balikpapan, Samarinda, and internal UMJ.

This agenda was attended by lecturers and higher education staff from various regions in Indonesia. This seminar is also a place for friendship, communication and information, as well as a form of awareness for universities in developing dissemination activities in various fields.

The National Seminar was also carried out in collaboration with several universities as co-hosts , namely Ahmad Dahlan University, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Pembangunan Jaya University, IMMI Management College, Citra Widya Edukasi Polytechnic, and Prof. Dr. Hazairin Bengkulu.

National Seminar activities will be held until the afternoon discussing various topics on strengthening capacity and collaboration towards a World Class University.
